Every name here represents an adoptee who lived, mattered, and deserves to be remembered.
The Adoptee Remembrance Day Wall of Remembrance exists to honor adoptees who are no longer with us. While adoptee suicide remains a central focus of Adoptee Remembrance Day, this wall also holds space for adoptees whose lives ended amid homelessness, substance use and addiction, homicide at the hands of adoptive parents, abuse and neglect, incarceration, institutionalization, the Troubled Teen Industry, deportation, failures within the mental health system, and other circumstances connected to the lifelong realities and consequences that adoption can carry.
Some died after years of struggling. Some died without ever having their stories fully known. Some went missing and were never found. Some were failed by families, systems, institutions, policies, and an adoption industry that too often refuses to acknowledge the darker realities of adoption. Some may have died for reasons we will never know.
Here, we do not need to know every detail of an adoptee’s life or death to say their name.
Their names are enough.
This wall is a permanent place to remember them, honor their lives, acknowledge their losses, and refuse to allow them to disappear into silence.
On Adoptee Remembrance Day, October 30th, and every day, we remember the adoptees who should still be here. We carry their names forward. We honor their lives. We acknowledge what they endured. And we continue working toward a world where adoptee suffering is taken seriously, adoptee voices are heard, and fewer names ever need to be added to this wall.
Please Note: To be included on the Adoptee Remembrance Day Wall of Remembrance, an adoptee must be known to have died or be missing with no trace. An adoptee who has experienced homelessness, addiction, incarceration, institutionalization, deportation, mental health struggles, the Troubled Teen Industry, abuse, or other hardships but is still living is not eligible to be listed on this memorial.
This wall is not a search registry and cannot accept submissions for adoptees who are estranged, lost to contact, or adopted and have not yet been located by their biological families. If you are searching for a living adoptee who has not yet been located, we encourage you to contact DNA Angels, an organization that may be able to assist with DNA testing and genetic genealogy in the search for biological family.
If you know of an adoptee who has died or is missing with no trace and should be included on the Wall of Remembrance, please leave their first and last name in the comment section below. Before submitting a name, please read through the list to make sure they are not already included. Names are listed alphabetically by first name.
We have also launched a new Adoptee Remembrance Day Substack dedicated to sharing adoptee stories. While adoptee suicide awareness remains a central focus, we are now accepting submissions connected to the broader areas recognized by Adoptee Remembrance Day, including suicide and suicidal ideation, homelessness, substance use and addiction, homicide, abuse and neglect, incarceration, institutionalization, the Troubled Teen Industry, deportation, mental health system failures, missing adoptees, and other adoption-related circumstances.
We welcome first-person stories from living adoptees as well as stories honoring adoptees who have died. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Please submit names by October 15th for the best chance of being added before Adoptee Remembrance Day on October 30th. Submissions received after October 15th are still welcome and will be added as time allows.
