Support This Work

Adoptee Remembrance Day is an independent, founder-led initiative founded and maintained by Pamela A. Karanova. This work is not backed by a large organization, corporate sponsor, grant funding, or a paid staff. It is a volunteer-led initiative built from the ground up and maintained year-round because adoptee lives, stories, struggles, and losses deserve to be acknowledged.

While Adoptee Remembrance Day is observed annually on October 30, the work behind it happens throughout the entire year. Maintaining this initiative requires significant time, energy, and personal financial resources. Financial support helps make it possible to continue growing this work while keeping Adoptee Remembrance Day resources and educational content accessible to the community.

Your support helps with expenses including maintaining the Adoptee Remembrance Day website and domains, website hosting and technology, the year-round Substack publication, adoptee contributor honorariums, maintaining and expanding the Wall of Remembrance, research and educational resources, outreach and awareness campaigns, graphic and promotional materials, printing, event and remembrance expenses, administrative costs, and the many other expenses involved in keeping this initiative active throughout the year.

It also helps support the continued development of spaces where adoptees can tell their stories in their own words. As this work grows, so does the time required to communicate with contributors and families, maintain remembrance projects, conduct outreach, develop resources, respond to submissions, coordinate Adoptee Remembrance Day activities, and bring greater awareness to adoptee suicide, grief, loss, and other serious realities affecting adoptee lives.

If this work matters to you and you would like to help sustain it, you can support Adoptee Remembrance Day securely through PayPal. Every contribution, regardless of the amount, helps carry this work forward.

Adoptee Remembrance Day is currently an independent, founder-led initiative and is not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Financial support is received and administered by founder Pamela A. Karanova to help cover the expenses associated with maintaining and expanding Adoptee Remembrance Day. Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.

Thank you for believing that adoptee lives are worth remembering, adoptee voices are worth hearing, and this work is worth continuing.
